Just wondering what handles better really about the same or is there much difference between the two?

Handling is personal preferance, it's down to the driver.
I personally favour the 205, I think it has a little more feel. The Saxo is safer though and therefor won't kill you if you over step the mark (well, not as much as the 205)

What do you mean by 'better handling' exactly:
Steering feedback/feel/weight?
Lift off oversteer tendencies?
Mid corner adjustability?
Outright Grip?
Throttle Adjustability?
Resistance to understeer/oversteer/both?
Standard or modified?

Well i've put a £600 deposit down for a completely rebuilt vtr engine with loads of mods 135bhp+ Gonna cost over £3000 and then i've seen a 205 gti with awesome spec 230bhp turbo with bilstein suspension gti 6 brakes etc and is cheaper than my planned engine! and was just wondering if the handling will be better than my vtr with bilsteins.

You'd need to have crystal meth addiction to consider a £3k VTR lump unless it's for competition use

Its a mi 16 engine and wasn't sure if it would be as reliable as my vtr (which i think looks nicer) i don't want to spend all my weekends putting the 205 back together again lol

High compression pistons, New piston rings, New big end bearings, New Main bearings, sump gasket set, St3 gas flowed black top head. Kent Fast Road cam, Steel head gasket, HFH Vernier Pulley. Engine fully assembled & timed up, comes with powered coated cam cover. Only done 17 miles since full rebuild.

for £600 you could buy a good vts engine and a few breathing mods / give it a service, and it'll be better than the £3000 vtr engine lol
modding 8v = pissing into the wind

For £3k you could have my whole car, a preditor ECU a BTB exhaust and a few hundred in the bank. That's an extra 20bhp and a whole car to put it in. Even has 4 pots. Winnnnnnnnnerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

pends on your funds tho lol
Edit, v6 is a heavy lump, so dont know how it would handle with that
my mate had a bodied mi16 205. and it was awesome, tanked bodied vts a few times.

205 gti and 309 gti are some of the best handling FWD cars ever made, saxos are good but they definetly handle much better!
A mates VTS was no match for another mates 205 gti 1.6 8v round the lanes.

The 309 handles better than the 205. If you can get over the talbot styled looks the weight distribution front and rear is much better.
Personally I wouldnt be buying a modified 205 for more than £2k unless it was very special.
