fair asumption?
as ive just said in a diff thread, theres nothing that compares, cheap, cheap ins, cheap parts and lots of them, so many modified theres so much available and because there so popular competition has brought the prices right down. so much fun to drive and can get big power from relatively small engines, the balanace and distribution is about as good as youll get (bearing in ind the cost)

Good call.
Do you mean cosmetically enhanced? (or dehanced), As I see a lot of Mondeo's with tape on the bumpers, that's modding, or bull bars in Australia, decals in a window, Lexus lights and seat covers? etc.
Bit vague mate, but if you mean as far as deliberate, cosmetic mods, to enhance the looks, then maybe you're on to something ;).

The Japs love modifying cars, in the UK I think Corsa's are mostly modified tbh, Hardly ever see a 3door 1.2 Corsa without some form of mod

even if every skyline was modified, there would probably be less modded skylines than saxos ;)

im mean in terms of popularity
and range of parts for price
range of mods for price
theres been so many made modded and smashed and still alive the cost is pea nuts, no other car can offer the same ratios in terms of the things above and in the first post

I admit you have got a point, suppose its the same as the 106, always see them cars molested as they are basically the same as a Saxo :y:

the civic would be far more popular than the saxo worldwide
french car's are far cheaper than jap cars, so it's a bit of an invalid comparison

i know this but im not stating it is lol, im working on averages of prices and parts available, not the most modidfied car(title is a bit misleading), the most popular in terms of price and range if you get me

the title of the thread has nothing to do with the thread then ;)
and if thats your point, regarding prices etc. as ive said its a fairly invalid comparison, rememeber theres hardley any cars that fit into the bracket of the saxo in terms of price of parts, only corsaB's, mk1 clio's etc
blackie_2k5
16th January 2010, 17:20
the title is still valid as it is propabaly the most modified in terms of being a stock n/a car, not nearly as many in the same bracket as you say have anywhere near as mods whether it be engine/body/interior, and the price for these is peanuts as said because theres so many done

In answer to the initial post.. Yes, yes it is.

the titles not correct, because the civic is an N/A engine, and there's much more across the world that have been modified than saxo's lol
in USA / japan, the market for parts for civics will be much wider than the european market for saxos
saxo's are just a lot cheaper than civics, but the cost of mods is relevant in terms of cost of car to cost of parts.
so in conclusion:
the saxo is possibley the most popular modified car in the world?
nope :)

lmao i giveup , however your still missing the point, its a generalisation and hinges on price and range, civics arent exactly cheap nor or the parts, however yes they are a more popular car wordlide wide sold, im saying you cant get better for the price and choice
Ashleyp

i get that point. but it's all relevant, you cant expect all car's / their parts to be cheap.
saxos = cheaply made cars hence cheap parts
lambo's = very expensive cars hence very expensive parts
obv thats the extremes of the scale, but it's all relevant
theres probably just as many parts for the corsa :)
blackie_2k5
16th January 2010, 17:53
maybe but if you read the first post it was all generalisations on price/range/parts avilability etc saying no other car comes close lol, and i still stick by this lol, but in term of corsas i agree to an extent, for bodywork etc there will be alot but in terms of tuning etc i dont think so. eg theres no one deciding to make p&p standalone for their range of car? because theres not as much market?

It would be the Honda Civic. Also the range of parts for the civic far outweighs that for a sax and parts aer cheap if you know where to look and who to speak to,and as for engine power and gains it'd cost thousands to get a saxo 1.6 DOHC 16v to 170BHP N/A yet a JDM B16a has this as standard. Plus the civic has been getting modified worldwide since the 60s or something crazy.

:wal: generalisation on parts/costs/fun factor/range/partsavailability/mods availability
more parts are avaliable for the civic
as standard they have much more power than a saxo
so to get a saxo to a civics power, it'd cost more
fun factor would be there in both cars
and avaliability for parts / mods are in favour of the civic
saxo is a cheaper car, and has cheaper parts, but the civic's a better built car so youd expect it to cost more
i dont see whats so hard to understand? lol
