My brothers crash - December. Bad one.

How do all. Police have finally released my brothers car so we could go and see what damage was done to it... wow.

Breifly what happened.

Brother, his girlfriend and his mate all in the saxo, about 2 am and going round a bend slips on black ice. The car looses it, hit a kurb, tipped on it's side, started sliding along the pavement which ruptured the petrol tank then the sparks from sliding along ignite the car into flames with it still sliding

Takes out a fence and finally finishes by taking out a lampost. The car is still on it's side at this point. My brother pushes his girlfriend out the door which is on top of them at thin point, he climbs out but his mate is trapped in the back of the car unconcious

Passing ambulance stops but wont get him out as the cars on fire, my brothers mate who he was following home has stopped at this point, sees whats going on and runs to the car, smashes the sunroof in with his fists and drags the mate out.. certainly a hero as within 2 minutes the car was completely alight.

All spent a couple days in hospital. My brother with a head injury and lots of cuts, his girlfriend was pretty much fine and his mate in the back 4 broken ribs, burns on his arms and a cut on his head requiring 24 stitches.

Not that fast, I say that because it was a night where it was REALLY foggy, when I was driving to the hospital I was doing 30mph on the motorway it was that bad but where he lost it is a long bend coming off the motorway, and he only passed his test a couple weeks before so probably just inexperience on ice, couldn't control it

FUCK! That be a bad one mate. Fucking hero is your bro's mate who got him out the back! Id even buy him a drink if i met him. Had mates die in car accidents and its not nice to witness, and for him to have the sence to get him out quickly is medal worthy imo. Hope everyone's ok now.
Cant imagine how much pain the dude is in with the broken ribs, anyone who has broken 1 let alone 4 will know how much it hurts after (i have btw) Cant sleep properly or move or even breathe properly for months afterwards.
I still cant lie flat on my back as i didnt get medical attention straight away and it push the back of the rib into my spine and this was years ago. Hope everyone has a speedy recovery.

jesus, glad evryones ok, as on the alloys mate it does most of the time happen, the tyres go strate up and burn fiercely around the rim, because its alloy as james sid it has a lower melting point, but in all fairness has some of the hottest part of the fire all round it, the tryes burn alot longer then the interior etc
