Okay, there seems to be more detailing guys on here than any other forums so might as well post...

The salt has eaten away at the laquer on the lips on my alloys. Got some Rim Wax on there now to protect them and will keep wiping them down daily now...

Is it a refurb job.. or can they be saved with some Autosol? Then just really keep ontop of waxing them.. Not the best pic I am sorry.

I used nearly undiluted Bilberry on them to get them that clean.

Dont go near them with Autosol buddy.......that is only to be used on a bare metal surface...not a painted / laquered surface. It would just remove more paint.

Personally for cleaning them i would use a veryyy weak mix of bilberry.

If it was my car i would get them re-furbished before they get worse, as soon as the paint has started to lift water gets behind the paint and they will soon deteriorate (IMO)

I used dilute bilberry and it didnt lift much from it, so increased it a little..

I can't really justify a refurb yet, I don't have replacement wheels.. maybe later in the year. Just thought Autosol would give me a proper polished lip. Then just keep on waxing them.

Autosol will just remove more laquer Jorge as it is so abrasive....making the wheels look worse.

Save the ££££££ and get them sorted imo

That was the plan, remove all the laquer. Haha..

The faces are fine, just the lips, and if I got them refurbed I will get the polished anyway.

I have bare alloy (no laquer) wheels on my other toy.....as soon as the damp hits them you have problems...even ifyou use the best sealants :n:

Bummer, okay will just put up with it in the mean time..

Will give them a clay as that cleaned up my old dished wheel well..
