OK here's the story. My friends brother has a 51 plate MK2 VTS with 113,000 on the clocks. Alot of this is motorway miles. Car runs very smoothly and bodywork is in good shape (few stone chips etc, usual for age). Its got 6 months tax on it but MOT finishes end of feb and a nearly full service history. Car has had 3 previous owners. and has no history (cat, stolen etc).

He wonts 700 for it.
I said id pay 700 if he put a new mot on it, but he said he hasnt got time (possible excuse for something wrong with it????)

Is it worth it without MOT???

yes or no

(p.s i know this might be in the wrong section but just need a few yes's or no's as he's going to publicly sell it tomo)

Cheers for any input ppl

Not without the MOT, It doesnt exactly take alot to put the MOT on it so i think he is hiding something.

sounds cheap tbh, i would pay for a garage to do some pre mot checks on it to put your mind at rest if you dont know wht you are looking for

milage shouldnt put you off as long as its been treated well

I personally wouldn't buy a car without an mot. Takes an hour to take a car to an MOT station, so he should be able to do it!

near me there is a place if you car is under 10 years old the mot is free if you it fails, and they only do mots so they are unbiased, if it was me and he didnt have time to do it himself, take it to a place like that and get it tested, if it passes you pay £50 if it doesnt pass then dont have it only takes 30-45 min to know weather its worth it or not
