I actually quite like them.

I would,

magnex catback exhaust,
K&N Generation 2 induction kit.
Exhaust manifold,
Lowered 40mm
Vtec Controller

Ashleyp
27th January 2010, 19:48
Lol thats quite a statement mate

in what way?

197bhp in a sub 800kg saxo shell would be more than a challenge for a typeR

of course, comparing highly modded to standard is never worthwhile though IMO

gotta go for a mugen / J's / spoon exhaust system if owning JC

Of course the right thing to do would be to sell it immediately for something with inferior build quality and generally driven by yobs :y: not

To the OP- for the EP3 CTR I'd get it lowered a bit, a decent cat-back and sports cat, Skunk2 cams and get a Hondata K-PRO ECU. With some decent mapping it will be a real weapon. Nice cars the EP3's, driven them many times.

My mate has a twin round magnex on his EP3, it shoots flames and bangs like a mofo

I have a K&N its a nice sound during vtec but the gruppe m has proven better gains.

the spoon exhaust is too loud for an every day driver like me imo

Which K&N is it? I have a Typhoon kit on my VTEC and the sound is mad. Also have a Blueflame exhaust which sounds meaty but a tad boomy at motorway speeds.

Cat/silencer removed and connected to magnex backbox and AEM replica induction kit.

Aye same mate its nice. I dont know about the accord but the civic is hard to fit a cold air feed.
Gruppe m is enclosed and has a scoop that sticks up at the scuttle pannel

as its been said already induction kit, exhaust, lowered with fast load setup are the three main things to do.

Ive fitted a mugen airbox to mines atm, saving up to get it lowered then going to get an exhaust for it. Keep getting sidetracked with stuff that doesnt make to much of a difference on it though.

1. ITG maxogen (save the money rather than spend alot more on the gruppe m for little extra gain over the maxogen)
2. A decent cat back sustem (eg a spoon n1)
3. Sports cat
4. Manifold
5. K pro

You've still got 4 more mods to pick...

I quite like them a lot, though tbh round my way there's more knobs driving CTR's than Clio's... they feel like its their duty as a CTR owner to 'race' me wherever possible. I understand the rivalry thing, but I think its just sad.

I'd spend the money on making it look tasteful, but different to every other one on the road... they all look the same generally to me.

Same round my way too. I'd have a Clio over a CTR any day of the week.

1) Gruppe-M
2) Toda Manifold, test pipe and cat back system
3) Hondata K-pro
4) Uprated ARBs
5) Coilovers

VTEC controlers are shit and a waste of money unless properly dialed in and tuned with the AFR corrected, basically get the K-pro instead.

JoshB
28th January 2010, 07:42
Yeah, I get alot of CTR's wanting to "race" me. Had one inches off my back bumper the other night, so I obliged. Bit of turbo torque and I was off while he was still waiting for his vtec to kick in...yo

funny how renaultsport say ctr owners bait them into racing

i had a bog std spec 172 racing me on a duelc i duly obglied and left him... then backed off come triple figures once i ran out of revs in 5th and put it into 6th...

i think both parties ctr / renaultsport are both racing eachother really lol

il sort my reg onto my civic first! then go about lowering it ... tbh the exhaust is quite loud when pushing the civic.. lol :y: so not sure what to do after its been lowered!

agreed, it depends on who's behind the wheel really.

i love how on this forum all saxo owners say "corsas are owned by chavs and try and race me all the time"

but you can gaurentee on the corsa forums they say "saxo owners are chavs and try and race me all the time"

if driven properly (ie in the right gear and the right speed) it wouldnt have taken long for vtec to kick in lol, all you have to do is rev to 5k which isnt the hardest thing in the world.

If I had the cash I'd do up the gf's ep3 with

1. Gruppe M
2. Mugen twin loop (like the sound)
3. Mugen manifold
4.K-pro the lot
5.Fast road set up to sort out the rear camber

Who fitted the kpro in you S2000

Kpro is on my wish list
I decent remap and vtec at 4000 revs

Even though the civic does have a decent 0-100 time it does lack abit till the high revs

hellovts

Wouldnt buy one but my mate has a greyen with anthracite wheels , plate and typhoon induction kit and it does sound amazing, you cant really mod them cheaply a their quite tuned from the factory.

I had to make the road trip down to TDI north.

Price depends on how much tunning time you need

A new K-pro plus dyno time can be around £800 plus

Its the ecu & install and then how much time you want on the rollers. More runs = a better map for your mods.

You can always do it a bit cheeper if you get a second hand unit and do a ecu swap with your factory unit. You can then run a basic map from the website untill you have the time to take it to a garage.

A lot of guys on the civc sites get a large wedge of their money back when they sell their car and take off the K-pro.

cool fella :y: quite pricey but for the fun factor esp if keeping the civic for three years at least sounds good.. reliabilty issues or?

cool fella :y: quite pricey but for the fun factor esp if keeping the civic for three years at least sounds good.. reliabilty issues or?

K-pro is different from thoes vtec controllers that don't work on the i-vtec engines. Only go to an approved hondata dealer like TDI or unit 8 downn south. If you do that then there will be no issues.

Make sure the cost of reprograming the immobiliser is included in the cost or you'll have to get a dealer to do it since you have removed the factory ecu.

But apart from that, it's triff!

Guy on the civic site has a standard ctr with k-pro - lot of people say its the best mod you can do even if you do nothing else.

hellovts
3rd February 2010, 15:22
il look into this at unit 8 down south! and sweet!

although if i started modding id lower and catback at least! before k-proing it as i like slightly lowered stance and abit of noise then k-pro would be immense!

time to start working out how much its all going to cost if i go ahead with it :D btw im not on any civic forums, which forums do u recommend?
