tv and laptop help needed please

i got a new laptop for xmas with a hdmi port, and a hd samsung tv.

when i plugged the laptop in to the tv via hdmi lead everything worked fine, good quailty pic and decent sound, i wanted to watch a film on my tv from the laptop, and the picture is there but the sound is playing thourgh my laptop not my tv,

i've used another hdmi lead but it still does the same.

turn the dolby digital off, and use stereo instead.

need to change your sound card to digital out

if windows 7, right click the speaker icon in the icon tray and select output devices.
