CampDavid
29th January 2010, 09:41
I'd imagine it to be extremely difficult and not worth doing

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 09:43
Don't think i can but its got a lot of potential just shame about the auto ness lol

BONGO1733
29th January 2010, 09:47
It's not that hard to do and the auto diff is better too ;)

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 09:48
I just assumed having an auto would be a very bad thing seeing as i like to drive fast lol but what would need to be changed im assuming gearbox clutch all the inside as well...

BONGO1733
29th January 2010, 09:53
Gearbox,gearstick,flywheel,pedals,clutch and hydraulics ;)
I have a flywheel under my desk if u need one ;)

Look at sxoc, there's some info on there regarding switching the transmissions.

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 09:55
Do you reckon it could be done for less than £500?

Azza-VTR
29th January 2010, 09:57
If you do the work yourself than maybe so otherwise probably not

If you can do it your self then yes :y:

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 10:01
Hmm may have found myself a bargain then and the sale of the saxo can cover that. SR20 a lot more tuneable than a vtr lol!

Depends on price of parts ;)

This is true ;) but then all depends on how mechanically minded he is, and whether he'd put a new clutch in etc

ryanmt
29th January 2010, 10:18
not an S14 for 500 unless it was really screwed. S13 you can!

Graeme
29th January 2010, 10:22
even auto would be faster than your vtr!

auto's easier to drive aswell

hard_corejoeboy

BONGO1733
29th January 2010, 10:46
How much ££££ have u got to spend?

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 10:49
After i get back i reckon about £5000 really i probably have more but want to save some cash for when i leave army in sept.
I was going to spend about that on the vtr but its going to be such a pain in the ass converting to vts etc etc and figured a 200sx has cheaper tuning potential and a bit of a better reputation

BONGO1733
29th January 2010, 10:51
For £5000 you could get a nice one i will have a look for you where are u based and how far will you go to get one ? ;)

hard_corejoeboy
29th January 2010, 10:54
I have about 3-4000 to spend now (whilst im on r and r) i will travel anywhere.

dannyhall

Fair play, non turbo is not good.

I like this one:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1462095.htm

But finding one under 80k will be hard, I wanted one but mileage was way too high!

Or how about one of these?

Retract it.

Auto + downshift + halfway round a corner + boost = hedge.

Yeah the wise men at sxoc have convinced me its all a little fishy so think im just gonna stick with the little sax. God if citroen had just given it the 150-200bhp it deserves i wouldn't have had this problem lol
