As above, has anyone renewed recently with Brentacre?

I'm all confused. I have protected and guaranteed no claims which was taken out on a modified VTS with a power cap of 180bhp.

I then changed vehicles and am currently running the standard VTR on that policy now which is due to lapse next month.

Now originally I was paying £315 for the year on the modified VTS with protected and guaranteed no claims, which I was told meant my insurance premium would not increase while I stayed with them.

Now I know I've had a claim (bonnet flip) and an unsettled 3rd party claim but from the above you'd expect the premium on the VTR to not exceed £315 as that's what I was paying on the VTS.

Why is it I've just received my renewal for over £500 on a standard VTR?!!!!!

Surely the poor market can't have affected insurance this much? Or could it?

I've recently gone with them and they were cheaper than my renewal with Adrian Flux.

My renewal with Flux was the same as I paid last year despite being 1year on - suppose that reflects the increased premiums?

Insurance market has raised all prices by 20% due to all the extra claims in the snow ect. Load of bullshit if you ask me.

well I just renewed my insurance policy the other day, and for me, when I rang them up to get a quote from them they were double what I ended up paying with Admiral ... but that is just how it worked out for me personally

I always find car renewal letter from ur current insurance company to increase, however if u dont just renew & fill in a new customer quote it often drops down slightly. Just insurance companies i think trying to make abit extra by people just been lazy!

just ring them and tell them its too expensive, they will instantly give you a lower price.

all insurance companies like to try it on.

I actually called them and was offered no discount.

I'm hunting around for the best price elsewhere now to take to them

Bit silly how it goes up for a less powered motor!

Ended up with Chris Knott in the end.

£400 all in fully comp. Still more than I was hoping to pay, but until the likes of Shabnam Mahmood and every bugger else that puts in false claims for injusry etc stops what they are doing I can't see premiums coming down
