For all those who have, or parents/relatives have a Toyota that may be affected by current recall, as a current employee for Toyota I cannot stress enough that you do not contact your local dealer, or 'pop in' with regards to the recall as you will be contacted, directly, by way of a letter, from Toyota GB.
The pedal will not just stick down suddenly it will appear gradually, ie, will get stiffer and will feel different. If it does happen you will need to perform a controlled stop by depressing the clutch, pulling to the side of the road and switching the engine off and call for recovery.
So to recap - DO NOT contact local dealer wait for letter to appear - it will not happen suddenly - if it does, use your noggin
