.. Are there any Dog owners that currently feed there dog on a RAW/BARF diet? I am considering changing my pups diet once we have finished his current bag of kibble to a BARF diet and im curious as to how many people actually feed a RAW/BARF diet.

Basically its an all RAW meat and bone diet.

If you do, what do you feed and what breed do you have?

Wouldn't get on that at all mate. Not really the worlds best diet; keep them on teh kibbulz for a bit longer till it gets a bit bigger and stronger and then move it onto James Wellbeloved kibble; absolutely quality food, top notch! Then occasionally give them a filled bone to chew on, works wonders. Also, for digestion, put warm water across the kibble, its better for the dog. As for the raw bone and meat diet, not really the best of diets, not nutritios at all! Give them the ocassional treat like raw meat and the filled bones with the above diet, not every day though, and it'll be a strong, healthy little buggger!! Done this diet for all 5 rescue dogs that i have/had; Black labrador/retriever cross, three German Shepards and a golden lab! Works amazing!

i have a rottie, fed her fresh tripe when she started on solids then moved her off that onto dry complete food,,,,,took her the vets the other day and he said she is perfect in weight and size!!
she is 15 month now,
imho i think dry food is the way forward,,,good for coats and everything else!! :)

I have been reading through the BARF diet and its meant to be a million times better for the dog, as they get all there nutrition from the RAW meat and the bones.

Apparently kibble can contribute towards illness and problems according to the BARF website. I was just trying to see how many people feed on this and there thoughts really.

Thanks

Got 5 (big) dogs and they live on a diet of webbox mixed with dry food, and they are all incredibly strong and healthy.

Lived outside all theyre lives never been in a house and the one i lost just after christmas was a 16yr old rottie. thats a dam good old age for a rotweiler! Also got a 16yr old lurcher cross collie and hes not showing any signs of giving up the ghost anytime soon :D
