I have got my self a 1.1 LX at the moment and at the beginning of the summer i am planning on getting rid of it and was thinking about buying a VTR, but i have been looking through forums on heres for days and all i keep hearing is people telling other people to get a VTS over a VTR, i will be 19 when it comes to buying the car with 2 years driving experience, would it be fairly easy to get insured on a VTS because im not sure on what insurance group it falls under, i know i can get insured on a VTR for about £700 a year, i won't be planning on modding the car performance wise as i know for a fact i won't be able to afford the expense of declaring it, i will be doing subtle mods like repray bumpers, change head/rear lights. any opinions would be helpful thanks

you mentioned "2 years driving experience"?
insurance companies only take that into account if you have been a named driver on another policy and will require a letter from your previous insurance to say you have 2 years claim free driving experience...
VTS is a big jump and you will also need to think of the cost of petrol, a VTS gets a lot less to the gallon than the VTR

i have been a named driver on my mums insurance for 2 years, i didn't think of the petrol costs, i've just gone back to college after living the working life for 2 n half years, so im obviously going to be tight on money for the next 2 years, maybe its just best i stay with a VTR and when i turn 20/21 drop a VTS engine :)
