Just got my new digital camera last night, as my belated 18th birthday present. Must say i am very impressed with the quality.

Here are the details:

Canon Digital Ixus 50

- 5.0 Mega Pixels
- 3x Optical Zoom
- UA Lens
- 2.0" LCD
- Movie, 30fps/VGA
- Scene Mode
- My Colours
- Digital Macro
- Print/Share Button
- 16mb SD card included
- Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery

I have ordered a Leather Case and 1GB Viking SD Card for it this morning from Amazon, so i can do plenty of photos and videos.

Here is my 'first attempt' Digital Macro picture.

I lurve the marco function on my camera.

Flowers and insects seem to come out really well so give that at a try when you get the chance.

Grab a tripod and get an SLR, possiblities are endless especially with a few good lenses.

On my SLR i have a fish eye lens, 300mm telephoto (with Marco) as well as the standard one. Dont use it as much as i should really smileys/smiley13.gif

Can't really afford SLR but will get a tripod a think.

Excellent little camera.

I got my Ixus 50 for xmas and I still haven't really used it...but it looks impressive smileys/smiley17.gif

Just been in centre of London and the night shot feature is absolutely brilliant for night photos. Really impressed.
