For the swirls you'll need a machine polish mate

If the shines been lost and you can't get it back with polish. Try some dodo juice.

If its not shiny adding a wax would be a waste of wax...the surface needs to be well prepared first,
Washed, Clayed, Polished, sealed then add the wax.

^^ It's the only way, Guess if your not into it then your not going to achieve such results by only washing the car man.

well ive seen things like microfibre cloths and clay bars for £20-30 each, seems like a lot lol!
if i can get a decent amount of supplies that will last a while for like £50 id be happy, guess thats a little optimistic though?
is a machine polish the only way to get the swirl marks out? cant do it by hand? i dont mind spending time and effort on it, im just tight with money unless its going to make me go faster lol

Swirl removal by hand, hope you have about 3 weeks free!
Wayne is very well priced and his work is top notch!

thought this might be the case, ive never done more than a quick jetwash but this is the first black car ive had and its a nightmare to keep clean. ive been led to believe once a car has had a proper thorough clean and wax etc its easier to mantain the clean and shine and a rinse will bring it up clean again?

Well...swirl removal by hand you are very limited tbh Lee, i honestly think a machine polish is prob your best option
And just think when the paint is silky smooth it will glide threw the air better and therefore be faster....lmao
If you do want to try it yourself then,
You would need some,
Clay and lube...£15
Polish...£10,
Sealant £15
Wax... £15+ depending what you buy
M/f cloths £10
M/f applicator pads £5
If say a detail was like £100, you would get a finish thats 10x better than doing it by hand, better products would be used and the protection would be far superior........plus you dont have the hardwork lol

Wayne is hopefully going to be doing my car in the Summer. But once it has been detailed you need to use the correct products and techniques inorder to keep the paintwork tip-top!

the best stuff to use to get a good shine is autoglym clay bar and then high definition wax, the wax doesnt leave swirl marks either.

Sarcasm i believe.
I know many will disagree but IMO most Autoglym products suck :n:
Take SRP for example....its the same price (nearly) as Menzerna Final Finish and you cannot compare the finishes they produce. Autoglym is only so popular because it can be purchased from anywhere including halfords etc etc.
Have they even realised yet that Claying is very important and started selling there own clay bar???
Sorry if this offends anyone lol ;)

Yes, lol (http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/acatalog/Autoglym_Surface_Detailing_Kit.html)
See what your saying though mate. Some Autoglym products are alright, but theres definately better products available for the money.
But as you said people use them because there so easy to get hold of I guess.:A:

The only Autoglym product I have is Leather Conditioner, and even then it's not great, hence why it's been used once!

As if they have finally discovered Claying lol
Only ag product I think is reasonable is bumper care. However carlack 68 for the same price is far superior!!!!!
