Help with ICE info

iv got 2 alpine sub woofers, 1242D. 1500 peak power and 500 rms. 4ohm. For starters wat the feck does the ohm part mean and how many amps am i gonna have to get to power these pictures plus my 6 by 9's vibe and front pioneer speakers. i already have a alpine headunit.

well your gonna need a 1000w RMS amp for your subs, and for 6x9's and front comp, something around 500w RMS.

so that should be sound, theres all this talk about 6 by 9's being shite, but one of my mates didnt have any just subs and it sounded shite so he got 6 by 9's now it sounds mint. i just dont wanna sell mine to find i need to by new ones, but if i can sell them i can buy better front speakers, tweeters and the other amp. wat should i do?

but with two 12 inch sub woofers , you will find it very hard to hear the 6 x 9's either way . sell them on save the pennies until you can afford some front components . you know it makes sense smileys/smiley4.gif

6x9s are shite.

Ohm: this is the resistance measurement of your voice coil. Your sub has dual 4 ohm voice coils.

Find an amp that can drive at 1 ohm and wire them like the top example in this link:

depends really though....at certain volumes you can't really hear them. the subs do beat the shit outa them aswell as the car smileys/smiley17.gif i can't wait for my front comps though smileys/smiley4.gif should be boomin smileys/smiley17.gif

brilliant, thanx a lot. so if i pump up the front comps, flog the 6 by 9s and by a two amps for the fronts and the subies i shud be rockin, is that rite
