come on seriously if you saw such a thing 1st instinct to help out surely?? disgusting..
Liam
12th February 2010, 16:04
Yer, I suppose. But it's so easy for someone to say you sexually assaulted them. They were probably scared of such accusations. I know it would be at the back of my mind.

but theres cctv so it wouldnt matter proof is all on there
Liam
12th February 2010, 16:08
Not being funny, but it all it takes was for one of them to accidentally touch her boob or summat and thats it. Thats all it takes.

That is actually unreal. They should be sacked and charged, what a joke.

Liams got it spot on IMO
You'd want to get involved, but security guards know exactly what they can and can't do as it's their job

Surely the whole point is for them to be keeping the public safe.. I'm sorry but if that girl had died, how would you feel if you were that security guard? Well I just watched her die as in my contract it says I can't split up fights!!
What a joke lol.

A security guards job is to stop people stealing or causing damage to something. All they are legally allowed to do is ask you to do something.

Security guards are just ordinary people.
What about all the other people there? They should of helped too.

True, but you'd expect a secuirty guard to help you out if that happened. Well I would anyway.. 3 of them, they only had to pull the other girl off and restrain her until the police arrived. If it wasn't such an issue, i'm sure it wouldn't be such a big story on the Daily Mails website.

But such is the hypocrisy of the daily mail (and all media/newspapers) the new headline; "Brutal security guards manhandle brawlers" then in the story... "something something touched her breast something something rape something something harassment something something sue".
Then they get sacked anyway.
End.

I would jump in as its the right thing to do as thats somebodys daughter or family member.

if somebody breaks into my site i have to ask them not to take the stuff and wait there when i call the police.
A gaurd on his own cant search you or your bag.

12th February 2010, 16:44
Gotta admit that
a) it was a pretty viscious assualt
b) I would have jumped in
But as I said above, those security guys dont have the law on their side and are probably not insured to get involved. What if they jumped in and one got stabbed? Didnt die, but crippled from neck down and not insured? Even simple medical stuff costs thousands of dollars in US.

There is 3 good sized men onto 1 women? They wouldn't even have to remotely try hard to restrain her? is this a joke?

Aye I think Liam has made a very valid point. Plus on the video I dont know how many of those passers by were in on it but surely they could have atleast tried to help out too?!

does not look good at all,
my mate owns a pub and if a fight starts outside the door men will not do anything as they could get charged for assult etc etc plus insurance and all that basically it's all this health and safety and pc bollocks over comon sense
i know it was in U/S i believe, but thats what this country has fallen into in this day and age aswell
would i stand by? no i would help! but saying that it looked like a few cronies maybe friends of the attacker came to watch in the background maybe one of them could of pulled a gun if a gaurd grabbed her!!!!!

after she went they didnt even see if she was ok though !! may aswell of been out for a stroll !! whatever charges would of been made i would of helped tbh , human instinct ...

Disgusting. I don't give a shit what the law's are about security guard's can and can't do. They should have helped. They're paid to help protect people there.
Any judge with a proper brain would watch the cctv and say the guard's would have been completely in their right to help the poor lass. And if the attacker tried to sue (sp?) then the judge should throw her out.

I'm security licenced so here's my point of view...
It is true we have no rights to touch anybody, but in some cases we have to - like a doorman throwing out a punter from a club. If we do we could be charged with assault or GBH which DOES happen, even if we are helping someone out. Personally if there was 3 of us like in this case I would have stepped in however it's America so they might have different laws and rights, but where it says "Even as the 15-year-old victim laid motionless on the floor they did not bend down to see if she was badly hurt." I beleive that is wrong

That's the bit that annoy's me soooooooooo much. In case's like this one - where there is cctv evidence showing a lass being beaten so badly - any judge who actually has a head and a heart should let the security people off for breaking it up.
If a judge sent the security folk down in a case like this for breaking it up, they want locking up themselves. Unless ofcourse the security folk went too far... (although i'd say the bitch deserve's a good slap in this case)

Why is that the first thing that comes to your mind lol, you been in that situation or something?
And there's CCTV so can prove no sexual assault, I could not just stand there and watch someone kicking the shit out of someone else, no chance.
And girls/boys who lie about sexual assault is disgusting as well, it's bad enough trying prove genuine cases of sexual assault with our justice system!!

They're not actually allowed to do anything except call the police.
actually they can while on duty and displaying there sia licence they can lawfully perform a citizens arrest (so can anyone but safer to be trained so you dont get in the shit ) if they have or are witnesseing a civil offence ie assault..
and there is a ovious difference between a trained security technition and a ordinary person and thats we no how to talk to police and cover are own arses in situations like that. But yeh we only have law enforcment as ordinary people but depends on the enviroment.
In a night club a security technician is basically acting on behalf of the licencee and has the authority to break up fights and eject people from the premises using *REASONABLY FORCE* but are the security guys actually patrolling the bus station or waiting for a bus??

wheyy another fellow security guy....
anybody can be ejected from the premises but as i said about its alway with reasonable force and making sure you know where the cctv cameras are that they always have a good view of the situation, also accident book being filled is a must.

Just shows them up for the spineless twats they are.
So we have a 15 year old child standing next to you and three of your colleagues for some protection against a horrible group of trouble-making thugs, and you'd stand by while the child is beaten senseless?
I'm sorry, but this isn't a question of "what-my-God-damn-contract-allows-me-to-do." This is a question of, "Am-I-prepared-to-do-the-right-thing-and-uphold-my-moral-code?"
Guards and passers by should be ashamed to stand by and watch a child throttled like that. Spineless yank dipsticks, the lot of them.

As i said, if a judge sent them down for breaking that up the judge need's a good whack around the head.
Not being funny but i sincerely hope no judge would lock them up for breaking an incident like this up. I mean... really, you'd have to a complete nob.
