This is from another forum just copied and pasted but it's quite shocking

Stolen New Focus RS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My mate just told me about a mate of his from Chester who has a brand new Focus RS thats done 600 mile thats been robbed by breaking into the house and taking a big knife out of the kitchen draw and comming up the stairs and getting the keys.

reg is D2OMY and the blokes called Dromy Dromgoole.

him and his buisness partner bought one each and now the other is for sale as they don't want the same thing happening.

he left chester and went for a night out away and stayed with friends and came back and had a few more drinks and went to bed.
In the night the gaff got rumbled and when the robbers broke in they took the keys to a new bm that was blocking in the RS and backed it out the way and left it in the drive and across the pavement with the door open and the keys in the ignition.
the police said the gang have done it before and will use the knife if they get caught taking the keys, also the police said its asians they are after who are doing it. other than that they don't know any more.

it was 9.30 in the morning when the car was reported stolen and by 10 the tracker peeople were informed and theres nothing tracker can find as its not showing up so they either know how to disarm the tracker or somthing.

I'll keep an eye out.

Couldn't help but laugh at his name though LOL

Dromy Dromgoole. You're asking for trouble with that name.

I bet the tracker will be removed a few miles away from where the car was taken. My old mans tracker was found 2 miles away in a layby after his STi Type Ra was taken from Drayton Manor theme park, except that gang used a crowbar and a sledge hammer to remove the disklok, another one took the dash out to get to the immobliser and another 3 threatened passers by with baseball bats who came anywhere near!

Shame but it happens, cunts.

That's not the first time i read about this way of stealing cars. Hope they run out of luck and get caught by the police, take the bat out and get shot.

what colour is it mate?

tracker wont be removed.

trackers only work at a certain amount of distance.

so if they are already 200+miles away then the tracker unit inside the local cotraffic cop cars wont pick it up at all.

jesus crist thats sounds like scary shit coming up with the knife

might have been a pen knife or a plastic kmife or even worse a bread knife...shock horror.

tbh I dont wish something like this on anyone and I seriously hope they get caght for doing this. there is always one bad thing to owning a new car and this is one of them...second one is jealous people scratching the paint work.

if its in the back of a container heading off to anoter country to be broken up for spares it wont work. cars has obviousley beenstolen to order, itl be ringed and sold for a small fortune abroad or broken for brand new spares and make possibley more. fact they didnt want the brand new beamer shows its obviousley been marked and theyve taken their chance at the point they did

how the hell do you reregister a stolen car abroad ?

dannyhall

Trackers are usually located in or around the fuel tank vicintiy. On my old mans car it was kept under the passenger seat - another common location, but that was physically removed from the car and severely damaged.

the same way modified car owners in spain do!

in spain its actually illegal to modify your car on spanish plates so what the owners do is either get cars already pre modified OR pay someone in france to look after the car in a storage unit for a while get it registerd under fench plates. then bring it back over to spain and re register it in spanish plates.

this is defo a oder jobby. one of my friends bosses about two months ago had his black X5 stolen nearly in the same fashion. and hee aint seen it since!

same way they ring cars in england mate, only its easier to do it to a car that originated and was registered in a diff country, plus the ppl responsible will probaby hav their own boat/s if theyre that into the whole thing, could just end up getting ringed here and sent to the opposite end of the country, happens VERY often, thats why hpi's are so important

HPI is a complete and utter waste of time.

I have dealt with a few cases of ringing cars in the past few weeks and its amazinly easy for them to do especially when so many of the general public who dont know what theyre looking for are so naive.
