The top photos is good, but would have been amazing if it was all alot
more crisp, in that if the green ducks head had been more in focus and
the wings too.
Good set of photos. Do you go out most weekends now?

Fred for the first pic where you shooting on AI servo or just normal AI focus, mmm i gotta get round to doing some motion shots they look wicked.
i need to get a better zoom lens as well as mine only goes up to 135mm (on digital thats a bit further). i want to get one of those white USM profession canon 300mm lens but there well expensive, i found some fraudster on ebay trying to sell some of £70 lol when they are worth about £1000.
nice pics though, did well with the horse, would have thought the strenght of the sun may have cause the apperture to shut right resulting in under exposing the horse but you got it just right and with nice highlights in the hair.

good job with the fill in flash, did you stop the flash power down or not. i was thinking it could have been fill in flash but then i didnt see any highlights in the eyes from a flash so thought you may have managed with out.
how much is the lens gonna set you back mate are you gonna get a x2 converter for it

Thanks. I didn't stop it down (does that itself a bit with e-ttl depending on zoom).
Bought the 70-200 for 649 euro's (what's that in pounds? About £ 450?). Picked it up yesterday and I love it! It's HUGE compared to my old 55-200.
I'm getting a 1.4 converter as the autofocus on a 350D doesn't work anymore when the max diafragma goes above 5.6... and 2x f/4 = f/8. So a 2x extender only works on a lense with a max diafragma of 2.8 or better. Anyway there's a 50 euro cashback on the Canon 1.4 extender as well.
Some test pics I took today with my new 70-200:

Now I have to wait a few months for the first rally smileys/sad.gif

I'm an amature as well.. only have the camera since september ;)
Yes it's a more expensive bit of kit than your average compact and yes I use the manual setting instead of just taking snapshots, but does that rule my out for comps just because I take it a bit more seriously than the average enthousiast? smileys/smiley2.gif
Btw I just remembered that I totally forgot to send Suie that pic! smileys/smiley3.gif smileys/smiley9.gif SORRY!
