Best off replacing the driveshaft. If you haven't replaced one before imo get a garage to do it. Should be no more than £90 part and labour.

as said replace the full driveshaft, if the boots split then chances are the dirt has already got in and done damage anyway

very easy to swap over if you have the right tools

balljoint fork splitter
hammer
socked set and spanners
breaker bar

thinks thats about it

parts needed the driveshaft and a new seal for the box, usually get a hub nut for it

when you get the old driveshaft out compare it against the new one to make sure it is the same

the drivers side is a bit different due to it having a intermediate bearing on it and you need to undo the nuts and rotate the lug bolts 180 degrees to get it out

I would replace the whole thing but becasue of not having a job at the moment im afraid it isnt an option :( I can only just about afford the boot lol. So are they easy to fit? or is it a garage job? Cheers

get a stretch boot from auto parts shop
turn inside out heat in microwave for 30 sec
use a washing up bottle cut in half
put over end of shaft than get some one to hold shaft
whilst you stretch boot over bottle and onto shaft
use plenty of w/d 40 on bottle(WATCH YA KNUCKLES)
THIS WORKS

I couldt find any on autoparts but are the stretch boots the same as the ones on ebay? And by washing up bottle do you just meen a normal fairy liquid type of bottle?
