what age does a car need to be to be legal without a cat is it 25 year old or older? cheers

i think it was around 1994-1995 they started putting cats on by law mate

The car can only legaly have no cat if it came off the 'production line' without one.

If car was produced pre1st Jan 1972 it is tax exempt

k reg on had cats by law from then on I believe
so as mentioned earlier 1992 rings a bell.
I just read that a car does not have to have a cat!! it needs to pass the emmision test this is acheivable with some very efficient engines without a cat!!
so the emmision limit has to be passed but you will probably need a cat to do it!!!!
