Hi guys ive been doing these for a while on mates consoles and decied i might aswel offer my services on saxp... i wouldnt reccomend me doing this fix if you xbox is under warranty as its still covered and me doing this involves removing the warranty sticker.
but basically ive got all the parts need the thermal paste which microsoft use (aint cheap)
and ill happily do the repair for £20:)

no dude those kits use cheap thermal paste. my paste is dimond nano silver paste which is used by microsoft and also in massive company servers.
its got a heat rating of -5 to 390C microsoft use them in there new xboxs after the rrod forced them to use lead solder and this paste in 2009+ xbox 360's
most pastes have a heat rating of around 250c and the xbox operates around this temperature in the perfect enviroment.. so if the xbox doesnt have perfect condition it over heats and in theory bakes the paste so it doesnt have any heat conductive properties

microsoft use shite products just to let you no. everytime ive sent somethin to them (xbox's) they break again so i use consolewizard.com and closer to me never had a problem to.

I always preferred Artic silver 5, the preferred paste by overclockers :)

evan if your xbox is still in warranty you can still do it mate when you need to take the sticker off get a hair dryer/heatgun and heat it up for a bit then it will just peal off and it can stick back on i did this when i had the red ring of death and they still fixed it for me free :)

So, all you do is replace the thermal paste?
That's assuming the problem is caused by the thermal paste.
What if it's a problem with the solder and requires a reflow?
How's thermal paste going to help there? or will you do that 'trick' where you force the xbox to over heat to reflow itself? and essentially fry the CPU.

I'd say it'd be flashed and not chipped, this won't make a difference to an ROD fix.

What happened with the ones ive repaired is that the xclamp caused the board to overheat and warp, by removing the xclamp, refreshing the thermal compound then using bolts it bends the board back into place
