Saxo VTR

I've finally decided on a saxo VTR.

I want to find the right one though and im really only looking at two colours, Silver or Wicked red as i assume Black would be hard work to look after?

Does anyone have any tips on things to look out for etc when buyin one?

my mate has a MK1 and has changed his throttle cable twice, also apparently the gearboxes are bad on them?

Wont cos me too much as im an apprentice mechanic neway but i just wondered what common faults were?

gearbox's are weak in saxos and looking out for sqieking at the rear suspenion could be a bearing which a mounts to a new axle!!!

i new i was in the market for a saxo and i made my choice mk1 in blue it was fairly standard when i got it but after afew ligth mods this is it now....

Yeh my mate has a posi blue mk1, its nice but i prefer mk2's i think. He had to get a new rear axle as well!

I'm not settled though, jyust waiting for the right one smileys/smiley4.gif

i prefer the mark two (had both) think they look a lot better at the front. i would say look towards a decent car with mileage, service history over colour firstly anyday! you can always learn to love the colour you get smileys/smiley17.gif

yer black is hard to keep clean and they do show up the scratches up give it that bit love and they stay nice. they look awsome all clean and sparkley in the summer.

i missed out on an ideal one last week, Black 51 plate totally standard, one lady owner 47k on the clock! great looking wee car, ill just wait till the right one comes along! with the right mileage etc. I want a standard one for a little piece of my mind! wud never buy a car thinking sum1 like me drove it lol
