Reporting a Police van for driving like a d1ck?
no lights, no sirens.. overtaking on the wrong side of the road (theirs 2 lanes on each side of the road) then undertaking in a bus lane.. and doing 40-50 all the time in a 30 zone.
no emergency as he was stopping at lights etc and even slowed down for a speed camera..

it pissed me off that much that i remembered the Reg and pulled over in a garage to write it down on my phone to report him, now im home, i have no idea how to report it lol :geek:

isn't there 1 called policeabuser.com or .co.uk, something like that or if it bothers you that much just go down the local station and have dates, times etc.

As above go into local station, but i doubt anything will come from it - there unlikely to disbelieve one of their own, and i doubt the driver will admit to it.

iirc their ecu and what not, are so up to scratch, they log rpm, speed, lights on or off, time and date! for use incase of serious accidents.

so if there was reason to pick it up and look into it, they can link it up and see if its true.
but all the officer has to say was, he had a call to attend, but then 15 seconds later someone had called to say that had it under cover!

still wouldn't explain why he was driving like that without the blues and twos on? especially going out of his way to get around the traffic and slowing down for a speed camera?

and nope, it wasnt a toyota van ;)

they do it all the time near me though tbf, driving like twats at night..
one night, about 3am on my way home from the ice rink, X5 police car and a Vectra police car, sat at some lights opposite me, next to each other... the nobs started racing off the lights, i couldn't believe it tbh :/

police driving leaves a lot to be desired IMO

I've had a patrol car swerve into my lane oncoming just down the road from my house on a housing estate.

I had to swerve to miss having a head on with him, bast***. No sirens, or lights, he was actually under the speed limit, about 20mph I'd say. Luckily the lane is wide enough that when I swerved to miss him I didn't hit the curb.

I do have alot of time for the police, but that wasn't a nice experience haha.

Oftenly see them driving like dicks.

But chances are nothing will be done about it.

Police dont have to drive with lights on when responding to the scene of a crime, it all depends on the siverity of the crime/act that means if they have to have them on or not...

Police vehicles, whether marked or unmarked, are exempt from virtually all road traffic laws as long as to break them is operationally necessary.

What that means is dependent on the circumstances and in each case that a police driver breaches a traffic law he or she may have to justify doing so, especially if there has been an accident.

Edit...

Section 87 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 says:No statutory provision imposing a speed limit on motor vehicles shall apply to any vehicle on an occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes, if the observance of that provision would be likely to hinder the use of the vehicle for the purpose for which it is being used on that occasion.
