I cant seem to find much info on this subject so i thought id ask on here. Ive ordered a stretch boot kit off ebay and i just wanted a guide of how to get the old boot off and get the new boot on. Any help would be really apreciated as i need to get this boot replaced asap to avoid damaging the whole shaft.

you might have to split the cv joint mate to fit it over it, most just replace the shaft

its one of those stretch fit ones. Nothing needs to come off apart from the old boot.

just cut the old one off if its knackered , stretch that over and use the clips it should come with to clamp each end

From what ive heard these stretch boots are a doddle to fit. Otherwise i wouldnt be attempting this myself. Iv just had a look at some videos on youtube and all you do is cut the old boot off, clean the joint and surroundings. Put the cone over the joint, stretch the new boot (inside out) over the cone until it is on the driveshaft. Then add the grease to the joint and pull the boot back and put on the clamp things. Cant be that hard surely?
