On public roads you should never really need to reach the limiter anyway in normal circumstances.

you can always get a shift meter buddy.
will do a red light at a desired RPM. you might not have a rev meter but a shift unit should be able to measure your revs pritty easily.

Toyota Aygos don't have them either.
They cost an extra £100-200.. And are then basically superglued on top of the speedo.

underseal your talking... £20 tops as he's doing my underseal & rear vallance welding for £20 but hes done a load of welding, painting etc for me already... the bonnet... maybe £60? could probably get underseal and spray for maybe £70. I could ask for you when i head in through the week.
ive got a new fone mate, same number though - lost all my contacts :(
Ive got my 1st friday off tonight in like 9 months ahaha :D YESH!!! guna finish off the fiting the minis new suspention & brakes woop

Yes, 1.1 owners like myself have a massive analogue clock next to the speedo.
My work van has a speedo and If im honest I do really miss having one in my saxo.
Its nice to know how hard the engine is working. Or when you have your music loud you can change gear using the revs so the car doesn't struggle.
Good olde Revvy :y:

i think the rules are, if you have one, it must work but i may be wrong. as for the speedo im pretty sure it would be against the law though i think you would only get caught out if you got caught speeding and used it as an excuse

Was going to say surely there is no way for them to do an emissions test in an MOT if your rev counter doesnt work ( or exist ) because i thought it had to be held on a certain rev and measured?

Nope you dont need a rev counter as part of an mot.
Most cars of a none sporty nature dont have them.
Most gas analysers have an inbuilt one if the tester wants to be accurate, though most can do it by ear
as for a speedo, mine hasnt workd for four years and has passed the mot each time.
Though its a good job i know what speed im doing at certain revs in certain gears.
If im going any distance or on track i just use the gps.
Properold school minis are easy to wire an aftermarket one in though.
Just take the feeds from the coil
