Hi.

Tryed to ring insurer today but been on hold for too long. Just hope someone will be able to help me a bit.

---------------------------------------------------------

So the lowdown...

I bumped someone at like 5mph and there was no damage to either cars.

Got out, everything was okay and the women seemed nice, said she would ring me if anything needed fixing.

Waited a month to find a letter through the post saying she claimed against me...

So i rang up and asked wth she was claiming for... "Rear end damage and whiplash"... typical...

I said it was low speed etc.

They said they would contact her and see what she has to say.

---------------------------------------------------------

I got the letter on the 6th of june... 2009

Got another letter saying she claimed it all mine etc... 10th of june 2009

Got another letter asking how many passengers etc, wether injured, and police or ambulance attended scene... 16th june 2009

Since then... havent heard anything. It is now 26th febuary 2010.

---------------------------------------------------------

Is there a certain ammount of time till it gets dropped?

Last i heard in last june was that they were sending out a engineer to look at car lol. Never did they.

But yeah.

Any ideas of where its at?

And no money has come out of account...

If your doing quotes mate, you will need to put it in as a fault claim.

As for the claim...I know its a pain but you need to ring your insurer and have a word.

I didnt know there was an option for unsettled?

All claims we deal with the are unsettled have to go down as a fault.

Based on worse case scenario's.

always take photos mate if someone hits you if possible or get a witness to review any damage. i crashed into someone once and he got his slr and tripod out and started snapping everywhere lol

& tbh mate if there was no damage to her car the engineer will see that.

Sounds like she is just attempting to get some compo money out of it and then once you started questioning it she probably dropped it but best bet is to give the insurance company a ring they should inform you if you have had a claim against you
