No worries... also keep in mind they completely ''forgot'' I'd sent it and hey'd recieved it... (after a month I gave them a ring).
If you get worried, call up the local passport office (where you'd have sent it to) and ask them what the score is :y:

Yeh, you will get it in plenty of time. I left sorting my passport to a week before i went to Amsterdam.
I had to go to london and pay £150 to get it the same day.

send it off now and get it sorted.
New passports also allow fast track systems in some countries to avoid ques, you go through an automated system which scans your face and your passport.

most take a week or 2 mate, however sometimes they will require you to go to Portsmouth iirc (or possibly southampton) for an interview, this is quite common now especially for someones first 'proper' adult passport! my mate had to do it and it took him weeks and ended up with him not going on holiday lol

Are all new passports the chip ones? When I came back from Europe my chip didnt even work, I think it was because it was one of the first issued a while back...

the reason passport prices have gone up is because they are all ones with the chip in now.

I sent mine off at Christmas time last year and got it back in a week..
Didn't pay anything extra/fast-track or anything like that either, standard process. Only think I did was had them check it in the post office before they sent it to make sure I hadn't made any stupid mistakes to avoid having it sent back to be edited.

If you're going within Europe save yourself a few quid and get an ID card, about £30 instead of the £70 odd for a passport !
