About 8 months ago After many Hours of thinking, i thought i want a new car, A V6, thought not much choise really, then i thought about The 406 coupe, and instatnly thought i want it, then my mind kept changin between coupe and a MK3 VR6.
Didnt want to have a race around car, just a nice cruiser.
I finally decided on a 406 as there quite rare, and its probably more laid back than a VR6.
Last saturday i went to surrey to see a 406 73,000 98 S Reg D8 SE Coupe, £2500, and i got it for £2300 with 1 Year MOT, 6 Months Tax.
SE is the spec, it has. Full leather, heated seats, air con, climate control, electric windows mirrors, electirc seats with 2 memory buttons (they do the mirrors aswell) 6 cd changer, JBL Amp JBL 8 speaker system, headlamp washers, auto wipers, tilt and pull out steering wheel. Speed sensitive Steering, auto dimming mirror, Brembo 4 pots on front. Think thats it.
Im already in love with it. Super smooth V6, efortless power, and just a comfertable ride.
THe body work is a little bad in places, but hay its 12 years old, but im not bothered, the interior and mechaniclas are good

Rear seats look strange, look more like a port-a-potty than a seat. Not that that's a bad thing :P

very nice scott, the old man has one (has one 2, wrote one off twice lol)

very good cars for the money.

his is also on 150k, bought it with 113k 3years ago, and it hasnt had a service in that time.

what out for coilpacks, as they tend to go and cost fuck loads to replace.

Any engine pics?

I want to see if the engine is exposed. Or has stupid plastic covers all over it?

comfertable

Apologies for being pedantic, but it's comfortable :P

I think you should spray some of the interior parts silver, do a bit of DIY work. As there is just too much black. Heater vents, door handle surrounds maybe? Would break it up a bit.

Also maybe a "Warning: Danger of deep vein thrombosis" sign in the back would be handy. Just picturing myself sat in those seats on a long journey :S

I understand were your coming from, its a bit bland, but that keeps it simple, and everything is built i little better than a saxo, lol, so there alot more effort to get it off and more thing to go wrong. I like black aswell, its give the interior some conformaty, plus tbh i fooking hate painted interior stuff it makes it look tacky, (sorry just my opinion)

lol, trust me those rear seats are very comfertable, no sign of DVT happenign i dont reckon.

Some things look alright when painted silver. I hate it when people paint bits red etc but silver just makes it look OEM. Thats what i'd do anyway but if you're happy that's all that matters.

Theres a rough missing patch on the drivers bolster, but im guessing as thats were everyone slides in and buckles get caught etc

I been worrying as i brought it at 73000 and cambelt is meant to be done at 72000, the garage man said nothing of it, so i thought fook it ill buy it, and put up with the tremendous bill, but just been sorting the Service history out, and i found a bill for Mot Plus Timing Belt, 2 Pulleys and a Water Pump.
SO fooking brilliant , im so over the moon, lol, im off for a bloody drive :)
