Attended a local rolling road day today, skyline owners in fact.

http://www.fordtalk.org/wp-content/uploads/Ford_Focus_RS_03.jpg

Some nice cars, one made 480bhp - however I was surprised when a brand new Focus RS turned up, I was under the assumption that these run 300bhp, however I knew the lad who owned it, he has added a de-cat pipe and also a performance air filter - he made 337.8bhp!

Almost 40bhp over standard - even he was surprised.

Could be a very optimistic rolling road?

Any standard cars running on it do ya know? What were the figures of a standard car compared to normal ones, if there was any?

should be taken with a pinch of salt as wth all rollers.

The thing is the quoted figure is just an estimate, all engines have a tollerance range.

Still they are good engines in the new RS, just a shame they look so chavvy

Yeah agree with rollers, but everything else which ran spot on, BMW M3 I went in, made 347.8bhp

Nissan 240SX made 480bhp - wicked car, couple of skylines and a Integra Type R - could hear the VTEC kicking in.

The term 'chavvy' gets thrown mis-used an awful lot these days.

Ive noticed loads of RS's turning up where I live aswell. Why are they selling like hot cakes all of a sudden? Is it because of the new 2010 model coming out or somthing?

its not a go at you its a go at everyone who uses the word chav way out of context!

Thats very good power, although by whats been said the RR does sound a bit suspect.

An M3 making 347bhp, was that standard? I know of more than a few owners say their E46 M3' stuggle to clear 320-330bhp on the rollers. One which had an exhaust and a remap even struggled to make stock figures.

That is a very good increase, even if you do take it with a pinch of salt.

Chav (pronounced /ˈtʃæv/ (CHAV)) is a term applied to certain young people in the United Kingdom. The stereotypical "chav"—known also as a charver in Yorkshire and North East England[1]—is an aggressive teenager, typically unemployed or of white working class background,[2] who repeatedly engages in anti-social behaviour,[2] such as street drinking, drug abuse and rowdiness, or other forms of juvenile delinquency.

so now how is the rs classed as chavvy??????

I understand what people mean when they say a car are something is chavvy, as its usually something that's rauccus and in your face so I understand where ryans coming from, however I do disagree it looks more like a hot hatch should in my opinion.

haha, i know alot of the powerful cars yesterday where making alot of power the bhp figures where all wrong cos they couldnt get traction so most there rr results where wrong apart from WHP and torque just couldnt calculate the crank bhp but last time i was there i made 177bhp at the fly with a bad over fueling problem and no FMIC this time with all the problems sorted and FMIC made well more torque and 180bhp at the wheels

I really like the Green and orange, I know its lairy, and the cars themselves with the huge bodykits/colour combo is a bit ridiculous, but I just like it, something about it.

Also, who cares about chavvy context. It can be applied to many things imo.

I personally love the RS's i think they are immense and sound fantastic and go like shit off a shovel, and look the dogs dangly bits IMO of course ;)

Its not chavvy but it aint classy its just a fast hatch basically I want one please (I would get the white one and put Black wheels on :))

your wrong, if you see a saxo with a fat bodykit, lexus lights and massive spoiler then you would say thats chavvy.
