Iv checked out your slcik boot install and i wanna do similar to my car. Just finshed buying al the stuff, two 6 by 9's, 2 12" subs and a 4 channel amp. How did you do your boot install, wat materials did you use, does having the parcel shelf affect the sound comin out the subs under it. And can my amp handle the spe of bu front compoments, 6 by 9's and two sub's. Thanx a lot matey.

cheers mate smileys/smiley2.gif well i used MDF for the boxes etc, glued them together with no more nails then screwed them together aswell so they wouldn't vibrate apart! then put silicone on the inside of the boxes so they are air tight. Then simply carpeted it. But make sure you don't make it too big like me! my rear seats don't go all the way back atm. which i need 2 sort out.

Parcel shelf doesn't effect the subs i don't think but the sub do beat the crap out of the 6x9s. thinking about moving them to rear door panel or taking them out all together when my front components come.

as for your amp....i don't know if it is powerful enough, depends what subs and 6x9s you have bought. Im running a JBL GTO 75.4 to run my sub and a Vibe Blackbox 1 to run 6x9s

I probably need two amps then, to do the front components as well. Also do i reckon i could fit the 6 by 9's into the bootinstallation then take out the parcel shelf alll together, i though this would look pretty cool. My subs are alpines and cost me a bomb, so have you taken any extra security measures which i could add? cheerz

I wouldnt take the parcel shelf out mate. It will just make your gear more visible to onlookers if you car's parked up somewhere.

yeah i suppose, but i mite take it out, and buy a roller screen which you can pull over and clip to the other side of the boot, it covers up the ICE but you can roll it back when you want ppl to see it.

nice equipment there mate, only unsure about the amp as ive never heard of the make etc. rest looks good though. may be better putting them 6x9s in rear door though rather than Parcel shelf, them 2 subs will really beat them to death!

Baz

gonna cost a fair bit to get an amp to power both of them subs though!

how do i fit them in the rear door, i got a VSX and i cant work otu how to fit them in, you got any pics of them fitted. yeah i mite have to ditch the amp but ill just fit them to the 6 by 9's now and see the effect. so did you make various boxes and then fit the subs then glued the boxes together then placed teh acrpet in to cover the gaps and screw holes, wont be able to reply now cause my lesson has finished, wil post reply later today. cheerz for the help mate!!

fitting them in the rear quarter could be difficult, depends on the shape of your door panels and your 6x9s.

making the boxes i used the measurements of the old sub box i had. as it was on a slant the old box i made them to just a rough estimate! therefore they proberly won't be made to the best size for my current subs.

you really sure it sounds better, apparently you have to have 6 by 9's or all you get is really deep bass from the back of teh car. if i fit them in the side doors then will it sound better them not havin them at all.
