Krys_23
1st March 2010, 18:22
I agree.. it's actually quite fun to use aswell! Even giving the wheels a blast with snowfoam takes a lot of the crap of it before you even put a wheel brush near it!

P90PTS
1st March 2010, 18:24
Aye I love covering the street in the stuff, also wash the conservatory with it too!

I give the wheels a once over with snow foam before i attack them with bilberry and a brush, saves me working too hard ;)

That mixture was 2cm of PH neutral, and a squirt of maxi suds II. I usually give a pump of megs hyper too but wanted to see the difference...

You should see it when i give the mixture 2 pumps of megs!

Also if you are going to get the CYC lance then play around with the mixture setting on top, it can produce realllyyyy thick foam or just a light spray

CYC foam lance is the best £50 I've ever spent tbh. Car was a total state yesterday... foamed it up with a few cm's of PH neutral snow foam, a bit of Megs shampoo and a bit of all purpose cleaner.

Sat for about 10 mins watching it pull all the silt, crap and immigrants that had occupied my wheel arches. Lazy and effective!

I agree it is a verry good machine and the fact it has a 2 year warranty just makes it better

The foam lance it comes with is very simple...you cannot adjust the spray style and chemical ratio without adjusting the solution in the bottle...but for the price its realllyyyyyy good, ive used one for 18 months with no issues at all.

The problem i had with the foam lance from cyc was that i found the bottle to be very crappy..........mine cracked after a few weeks where it screws onto the gun. I did get a refund from Tim and he now assures me they are far superior to how they used to be........soooo i bought one the other day. I will give my honest opinion of it when it arrives.

But as i said for a budgest lance the one in the link above (with the PW) is very good and comes highly recommended from me.

James

Mine gets used to do 3 cars, had it just over a year. Bottle seems fine so far... if i'm nitpicking, the thread on top of the bottle starting to look a little worn. I doubt a replacement bottle would be very much though.

If your on Cliosport check the for sale section.

Someones selling a Karcher 2900 for £50 with all accesories. Doesn't come with Foam lance but its a good all-rounder and retails at about £120.

James, the foam attachment with the Nilfisk, does it produce the same thickness/stickiness (obviously with the right mixtures) as the HD foam lance on say a Karcher ?

J222JRA
1st March 2010, 23:32
With the right ratio of snow foam to water it is very thick.......but not as thick as it could be with the hd lance. But then again its more than half price what a karscher + lance would cost.

At the weekend i will make a thread comparing the 2 types of lance. If i dont someone PM me and remind me as i have a memory like a siv lol

MikeyW
1st March 2010, 23:33
I will make sure I PM you as I am seriously considering the Nilsfik to replace my slowly dying Karcher.

J222JRA

Its a very good replacement tbh Mikey.....plus you can always upgrade the lance to the cyc version as they do the correct adaptor.

+1 Very good for the price.

It does the job well enough for me. Plus even if other lances can produce a "thicker" foam, what advantage does this have over a "thinner" foam? No matter how thick the foam is, only the bottom of the foam (if you know what I mean) is in contact with the paintwork loosening the dirt.

J222JRA
2nd March 2010, 00:20
The thicker the foam the longer it sticks, the longer it sticks the better it cleans.
