Racelnad coilovers 40 mm

Hi there guys , i know thre has been a few threads about the raceland coileys and about people saying how shit they are when its slammed but .. are they alright if you only wanna drop it like 40 mm or is it pretty pointless and just worth saving for sumthin better, i just want it to look better and handle a bit better ?? thanks

at 40mm you might as well buy a better standard type damper unit for the same price as you will get better quality components and a better ride.

Any height they are crap mate.

Pointless at 40mm as you may aswell just buy a good spring/damper kit.

Raceland wont make it handle better at all.

Will it handle better than standard , i have already bought them and they are at home waiting to be fitted, tho my gf just facebooked me telling me they're called raceland , just read over a few forums and now slightly worries , dunno .. if it does the job for a bit tho .... ???

i had a set
and the only reason was as i didnt care and they cost me 15 quid just to deck my car
they handle wank
bang and crash even at higher settings bounce all over the place and are literally just shit
imo they should stop making them as they are dangerous ive even seen the threads fail and the lower spring pan come off the collar (wasnt my set though)
its a case of only use them on a show car you trailer to a show to get it low

Well for the moment there going on , i can always get different springs and shocks if they are THAT bad, time being they'll have to do as i can't afford to go spend like 500 quid on decent shocks and springs.

Also if they are that shit then i'll get a refund and make them pay me back the money it cost me for fitting them as they would be not sold as described

Do yourself a favour and return them now. They won't return if they are used. Also the standard setup is far better than them

Return the coilovers and get a Apex -50mm kit, probably the same price as the coilovers (£200 ish), built well, preform well and recommended by many users :y:

Perfect as you only want a drop which is achievable on springs and shocks :y:

Pretty much. It has no relevance to the UK. We use the British Standard or European Approval here. . All the raceland parts I have seen in my opinion were really quite cheap and not something I would want on any of my cars. Though I may have just had bad luck with them.

raceland are poor. the only thing i have raceland is a mani... however this is being replaced for a piper. there coilover looks awful. I got a spax PSX kit for £189.99 brand new these retail at £380, get the apex kit. you will regret paying to fit the raceland mate

To fit you need to angle grind the strut
so going back to standard you need new ones
an apex kit (very good i have one on my car) is 200 quid


And yes they do make handeling worse

But like everyone else has said, for the sake of 40mm you should just buy some springs, Eibach would be the choice for best handling paired with maybe Spax PSX or try something like Koni with Spax springs or similar if your on a budget.

Eibach sportline are too soft for handeling I had some on billie b8s and hit the floor loads as they just wallow about
spax psx are ok but are slightly over damped an seem crashy on the ride
for the money go apex IMO
mine is the best kit I've had (I've had a lot of setups)

Welll.... i got them fitted yesterday ... purely for the fact of wanting it to be lowered.. it may have been a mistake but so far i am 'fairly' happy with them , i do find that it does handle better and i can take corners quicker , BUT they have basicly 0% damping and that a small pot hole you just a big bang from where it bottoms out , for the time being i'm happy but i will take your advice and get an apex kit, i should have listened really , on teh other ahnd the back shocks are ok and i'm at least half way lowereed now for when i get new shocks and struts...
