Why do some people install there subs so that the drums are fitted facing into the bodywork, surely this gives out shit sound.

i think it does not give out a different sound...it just sends waves of bass
in a diffrent direction...think they do it just for styling...

i dont quite under stand what your saying? do you mean why do most subs face back towards the boot? or when people mount sbs with the basket outwards?

the more reference points that a bass sound wave has the louder it sounds. EG. the bass sounds louder when you have got your windows open a bit smileys/smiley5.gif

also bass waves are longer waves than others and need time to develop, your sub will sound better and loud having it facing it away from you as the sub will bounce off of the boot and into the car allowing the wave to develop further.
