Right i've never been a huge fan of detailing or anything. Liked keeping the car clean but thats about it!

Krys has got me into the detailing a bit, so bought some stuff off CYC:

Meguiars Foaming Sprayer

Handi-Hold Bottle (947ml)

Ultimate Ultra-Plush Buffing Cloth 16" x 16"

Valet Pro - Bilberry Wheel Cleaner (1 litre)

Dodo Juice - Sour Power Shampoo 250ml

Dodo Juice - Red Mist tropical 250ml

Dodo Juice - Diamond White (30ml)

The front wheels have a bit brake dust on them in patches, which is well and truly baked on. I've been at them with a toothbrush and cheap wheel cleaner but never budged. Hopefully the Bilberry will shift it, using the bottle and foaming spray nozzle, but i'm not getting my hopes up :p I'll be delighted if they do come mint! Krys is giving me a tub of Poorboys wheel sealant aswell. :D

Hopefully go up to his soon and give the car a rinse with his snow foam lance, then a good thorough clean with the Sour Pour shampoo. Then he can teach me how to apply the Diamond White wax, got this as it seems like good stuff for light cars especially white. Then as far as i know, leave it a few hours before apply the Red Mist. And the Teg should be shining?

I'm new to all this so does all that seem alright? What else would you suggest that i buy? Will be buying a snow foam lance within the next couple months, so hopefully a good going over with this gear and then a snow foaming once a week should keep the car spotless?

I think thats just a list of items hes bought..? In no specific order?

Peter, have you read about clay bars yet? Do abit of research into claybars using the search function. A claybar + lube is a 'must have' if your getting into detailing.

What i meant was, to wax the car and then leave it for up to 24 hours and THEN apply the Red Mist.. I said 'apply' instead of 'applying' :S

I'll have a look at clay bars just now cheers :D

Never knew what clay bars are, now i know!!

So would you recommend this clay bar, the Sonus:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/sonus-ultra-fine-detailing-clay-pkg/2/prod_37.html

With the Sonus lubricant:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/detailing-clay/sonus-glyde-detailing-clay-lubricant/prod_42.html

Or with Dodo Juice lubricant:

Thanks for the replies :)

Red Mist can be used before OR after waxing. Before as a sealent which is it's main use anyway and after as a shine booster/quick detailer.

You Fail

It can be used before wax as a main sealant or after waxing (24 hours later) to add to extra depth and protection to the paintwork.

I use it everytime after a wash to keep it looking tip top.

Right done a bit more shopping. This is costing me a small fortune!! I've never been interested in properly cleaning my car before but now i can't stop trawling websites for cleaning stuff! And daydreaming about me lying beside my immaculate car with stacks of cleaning products lying about...LOL. Just bought these...

Rubbish Boys Orange Fine Clay 100g
Dodo Juice Born Slippy 500ml Spray

Also a Merino Wool Wash Mitt

And 2 x Dodo Juice Spritz Bottle 250ml Trigger. These are just the empty squirty bottles, gonna fill one with diluted Bilberry wheel cleaner and not sure about the other, handy to have.

Gotta wait til the weather picks up then i can try it all out!! :D
