Hello - I made this post in the problem section aswell but thought i wud put it here too

Basically i bought the car at christmas which already had the amp and sub in them but have never worked :/ I have only recently tried to set it up but i get this wierd noise :/

I got the grounding wire fitted perfectly, the power wire goes to the battery good, and all wires to go the head unit fine but when i turn my engine on the speakers in the back squeak like crazy ( like a kettle ) and as i rev the engine it goes higher pitch, i can hear music threw them very quietly but the squeak is too loud... ive tried so many thing today but decided to call it as im absolutely frozen

the speakers i have are Pioneer TS-E6996's X2

Very common problem mate easeily solved to, its whats known as grounding noise and makes a whaling noise or in your case like a kettle lol. Its caused when the power cable is very close to the neg cable and an interferance is made. To solve it got hold of an item called an Ground loop Isolator. There not expensive to. However if you have more than one phono input to the amp you will need 2. We sell them where i work, here it is on our website but call into any Maplin for one:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=33172

To install it simply unplug the phono from the amp and put it into the female phonos in the right order, then with the male phono from the isolator connect that back into the same port on the amp. Then get in drive around and see what you think, that shouls solve the problem

Good luck mate let us know how you got on :y:

well no that how much they are were i work you get them for next to nothing on ebay lol ;) and as for the amp not working, have you checked the fuse. One of my amps stoped working cos everytime i put a new fuse in same rating it blew the second it went it. if you had it from getting the car it might be due to wear and tear. so get a new one nothing two powerful for those 6x9's. Now would be a perfect opertunity if you are sorting the audio is to get some comps for the front.
