My current I.C.E. setup is somewhat very dull and boring. I am looking into having one 10" sub and amp. I've been having a look through a few sites and was wondering is it or is it not adviseable to keep the makes consistent?
I currently have an Alpine CDA-9830R headunit.
Something I am keen on at the mo is...
Alpine Type-S Pack (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4814)
Is this good value for money?
Also, what's the story regarding 6x9's? Are they ghey? Should I just uprate my front speakers? If so, to what? Components, co-axial?

no need to stick tot he same brand.
6x9s are gay.
Front components amped if you can budget it and sub and amp in the rear. rock on.

As this will be the first ever sub and amp I've had in any of my Saxo's, I'm not after anything special. I'm only after a bit of bass and a better sound than I currently have.
So do people think that Alpine Type-S kit is worth it?
I might buy that kit, have it fitted and then see if the front/rear speakers should be upgraded.

Graeme... I know. Tell me about it. It's because I'm always concerned as to what my car looks like externally. Interior mod's are always last on the list and in the past, if I can hear my speakers, then it's fine. Hehe!
Scott... Looks like I'm the opposite as I've NEVER had any. Hehe!

Yeah subs do begin to give you a headache after a while, but... i love my BASS smileys/smiley4.gif i was going crazy without it, music just does not sound 'good' without a bass box system.

Infinity Reference
I was going to go for the Kappa's but don't feel I need them (at this present time). The Reference ones are half the price and not that bad.
They should be with me tomorrow smileys/smiley16.gif

thats my opinion, i have two subs two amps etc.... and they just help to add treble and a bit of mids, as im using the cross over and gain etc to block out bass going to them ...
