when i brake and come to a stop i get a clunking sound coming from the front left wheel, also if i reverse like when reversing to park, when i then brake i get a slight clunking sound, what can this be? and what should i check? iv jacked the car up and felt for any movement and there is none, where shall i start? thanks

make sure all engine mounts are fine..especially gearbox engine mount..best way to check it is when the engine is cold grab it and rock it..if there is quite abit of movement then thtsur problem..also need to check all suspension and bushes...track rod ends...could be any

as said will probably be a worn bush or top mount or possibly lower ball joint.

well i think my lower ball joint is gone, because it was split and at the time i didnt have the money to buy a new boot, so im thinking that could be the problem on the left, but i couldnt feel any movement when having a feel around and the clunking noise is from the right side, only happens when i reverse and brake, no matter how hard i brake,
