Its pretty pointless. The only reason they went down last time was because people started to reduce their fuel use, by driving slower and traveling less. The prices went down to encourage us back into our cars and it worked so you see a natural increase again.

Petitions will not drop prices.

Basic ecanomics.

You HAVE to buy fuel.
So they can price it pretty much how they like.

"If you dont cut prices... I'll drive less"
"Fuck you, we will just put prices up"

what makes me laugh is some people pay loads for spring water which they can get for free out of the tap....

yet, when it comes to petrol which has to be drilled, shipped, refined, shipped, stored the pumped into your tank and you get it for £1.15, seems fair to me.

what doesnt seem fair is the 75p (im guessing) tax on it...

dont moan at the price, moan at the tax...

The price of petrol is the highest since 1999 i think it was, but the petrol price per barrel is cheaper now than in 1999, so theyre charging way too much on tax.

It dosent mate sense though...When fuels cheap more poeple will spend more and drive more etc, so the goverment get loads of 1p's, but now they put it up, poeple will buy less and do less miles so theyre gonn get less 2ps, so probably works out the same.

Id definatly buy more fuel if it was say £1 a litre.

The typical family car will drink £14 more per month, with the higher fuel prices, dosent sound that much to me tbh.

personally.

whack a litre up to £2, and out of it comes your road tax and insurance aswell.

that way, aslong as petrol is in your tank, your insured and taxed, i belive they do this in OZ....

or im just being retarded, which is more likely.

Its true that its the tax thats a bloody joke, no wonder everything in a garage is so expensive cause the only thing they will be making money off is the goods inside the shop.

They won't do that now with all the eco cars though.

The price of a barrel of oil is heaper now yes, but oil barrels are bought in dollars, as you may have noticed recently the pound aint worth crap vs a dollar to what it was a year or two ago so that is in part causing the price rise
