I have a really annoying squeeking noise that comes on all the time it seems like its something to do with a shocker or something because it does it on bumpy roads and not at all on ring roads and stuff but on my estate its well bad cos the roads arent completely flat.
its well hard to explain, but i dont think its a shocker thats broke because its not banging just squeeking.
i think its coming from the rear but not 100%.
Its not any mounts because i had a problem recently that i thought was the mounts and had engine and gearbox mounts checked, it turned out to be driveshaft.
So what steps does anyone think i should take to try stop this? I'm wanting to put my car up for sale but cant do it till i sort this squeeking.
Should i take the wheels off and try wd40/grease the shocks? Is there any parts i cant lube up? And should i use grease or wd40?
Any ideas what else it could be? I was gonna see if ricky p could have a look but last time i went he was way too busy. He said it sounds like something that just needs greasing up.
Hopefully you can help, thanks. :y:

I am almost 100% sure that what you're describing is the ARB (Anti Roll Bar) end plate bolt.
Rock the car from side to side. Can you hear the sqeak? Even if you can't please read on,
This is a common problem with saxo's where the bolts work themselves loose during turning and going over bumps. To sort this:
Get both rear wheels off
Between the two torsion bars is the rear axle, inside the rear axle is the anti roll bar. On each end of the anti roll bar (each side of the car) is a cam shaped plate. On the end of this plate is a 13mm bolt. When these bolts (1 either side) work loose (usually only one of the two will work loose at one time) the ARB end plate is then free to rub on the rear trailing arm creating a horrible squeaking noise.
Tighten these bolts up on either side. Tight, but not stupidly tight as they can snap with excess force. It does take a fair bit to snap them, but just be careful.
Once tight take it for a spin.
Hope that solves the problem mate :D.

Thanks a lot guys, especially 5trudd3rs for being so thorough.
I know exactly what your talking about but the things is iv had that problem fixed about a month ago because of a 'ping' noise that was happening now and again. I had it greased and tightened so i cant see i being that but i will definately check it.
No idea what else it could be because youve all said the same thing.

Yeah seriously they will work them selves loose every time. That ping noise develops to be a sqeak. I had mine tightened by pug1off and it still worked loose. The best way is just locktite locktite and more locktite. My mate had to weld his one on because it just wouldnt stay tight. Just check it again and i reckon one side will be loose. If it makes the noise when rocking the car from side to side then thats almost definatly the problem as this is working the anti roll bar.
