if you already have the spare axle to fit on a garage should charge around £80, 2 hrs labour.

do it yourself if you have axle stands and quite strong :)

id say 2 hours tops!...

give leave way if they decide to charge for a brake fluid change and bleed of the system...
if your going diss to disc, drum to drum there shouldnt be any problems!
if going drum to discs, they may want to be bastards because they need to re-lengthen brake pipes. but thats a 10 min job!

80, plus 20 for brake fluid and bleed, sounds fair to me.
thats what id charge anyway :p

but as said, and will get said ALOT, do it yourself if you have the time and patience.
2-3 man job could crack it in under an hour easy! whilst two hole it in place, another bolts it up, being sat in the boot...

drum to discs...
so they will have to alter the pipes, as they need to feed through the balance valve. . . id say another 15-20 TOPS quid for that.

say, labour, fluid, bleed, alter pipes... 100-120 would be ok!

but its worth looking around!
still only a 2 hour job!

day job? for a mechanic...2 hours,2 TOPS for everything!
took me, first time i did it, half hour to get the old one off, with the aid of another guy to bolt the new one in, half hour to bolt the new one up!

then fitting th pipes, and fluid, bleeding took the longest part!

probably a good job to do your self just make notes how it comes out and reverse it putting new in, take your time and theres plenty of how toos to bleed systems back up, time to learn my freind and youll save your self a lot of money in long run, as very basic cars really, you can buy bleed kits from halfords cheap as im sure youll wanna upgrade fronts soon, its a bit of kit youll uses over and over and very handy to have on shelf, so give it a go and at worst set aside a day to do it
