Don't be like that Viper!

I'm sure a list of names of people not happy about the increasing costs of fuel will make the prices fall!
Thought plum is nicer that white, petitions do not work with things like this...

Typical Britain, lets send a piece of paper that'll 'accidentally' get lost in the system and one of the only ways to get this to work would be get council leaders to sign also.

Hows about taking action and doing something the government can't ignore. We're barely out of recession and yet fuel is at a higher price than it was last year during a time of affluence. The government needs to realise that it is us the people that rule this land and they are only there because we want them to be,we have the power to change things but need to do something both seen and heard not just a bit of paper.

Only way to lower fuel prices is a fuel strike. And nobody will do that beacuse we all need our cars !

I think the french have the right idea whe it comes to things like this when the put up blockades and dont take them down untill the government do somthing about it. I am like everyone sick and tired about the price of fuel and want somthing done but i think the only way is to cause disruption. Yes it will piss some people off but at my work between 6 engineers we all do best part of 3 tanks of diesel a week and the fuel bill has gone through the roof. Just my 2p's

Every person who signs a petition needs a reality check. Sometimes, the pen is not mightier than the sword. I am on a fuel strike, and I am now driving between 10 to 20 mph under the speed limit.

I do recommend you all to get your foot off the throttle, you will do a lot of damage limitation on your fuel consumption. If everyone contributes, the demand will fall and they will be forced to take the prices down. On a personal level, my next car will be electric.

blockades and dont take them down untill the government do somthing about it.
Blockades in England ? Haha people just don't have the guts over here.

Agreed, this country on a whole needs to grow some balls! People complain but government just wont care unless it hits them where it hurts, their wallets!

The goverment wallets are basically our wallets as we fund there trips to other countries and kinky porn films...

lose lose on our part really.. not much we can do without making the country worse..

i think the next general election will have lots on thing that really matter to us like imigration and fuel prices ect so EVERYONE should vote.

i dont think that will matter much to be honest. The countries in so much debt it wont matter whos in power...

plus they are all out to basically line their own pockets once they get into power the "promises" they have made go out the window.

So long as the people at the top are happy screw the rest of us! :wall:

Some of you have a great attitude.......let's not do anything cos no-one listens anyway...

Well, if you don't do anything and are happy to pay the ever-rising costs, then at least some people are attempting to improve the situation for everyone.

I can remember a thread like this when petrol prices went over £1.00 - the price was affected by the general public taking action, and it worked - for a time. Prices stabliised for a while at around 98 / 99p.

Since people joined the "can't be arsed" group, prices have slowly crept back up. Pisses me off - £1.20+ is a joke.

A while ago (many years) in the UK everywhere went still at a point due to everyone actually giving 2 fucks about the prices of petrol. there was a standstill of vehicles for 2 days and the government lost £millions in just 2 days..... Perhaps this is what is needed again

instead of doing a petition organise a blockade, real action.

instead of doing a petition organise a blockade, real action.

Lets just riot/loot etc! go crazy! smash the towns up etc ha!

in all honesty i would love to stand up and be counted, but the fact is not enough people will actually bother to stand behind some one so there isnt much point unless we got 1000+ people to cause some real havoc maybe.

it costs so much to stop people using fuel, and the way thungs are we cant afford to stop driving.
if people used pblic transport for a week it may be an idea but in reality who would?

ok so we have a sax-p blockade on the M25/M6? what time lets say april 1st when the fuel price go up. Just have 50 odd cars going in each direction on rush hour and then just stop or slow down to a crawl. Doesnt take a lot of effort does it and i bet loads of people would be up for it

strength in numbers eh?

we all need to just buy from one company say Shell and not buy from anyone else this will make the other companies BP tesco etc etc lower their prices to encourage us to start buying from them again, then when they do start lowering prices start gettin it from them then shell will lower their prices to compete and then just caryy on like this till we get the fuel back down to the good old day where you could buy a gallon for £1 haha

this wont work ither but o was bored so i wrote it haha

it's all possible, what's needed is someone or a group of people to put the idea out on all the UK motoring forums which they are on,this in turn will be passed through word of mouth to other groups ie truckers and taxi drivers who will (most likely) support the action. It would also need a set date and not something stupid it'd have to be 1.5-2 months minimum to allow word to spread and people to prepare and organise.

The posts would be very beneficial on sites like PistonHeads where there are lots of users from all different marques who can then go and spread to each of their own regional/vehicle specific/marque specific forum.

So if someone could do a good template to copy and paste to other forums it'd be hugely helpful,i would but i only use my mobile and have no access to a PC atm.

Now this whole thing is kind of started lets try at least to make this happen.

what I dont get is everyone moans like fuck about the cost of fuel then someone starts a thread about it and a few people mention taking some action to stop it and it only gets 2 pages of replies.

I think people just think that theres nothing they can do to change it, I think a mass blockade or something like that would work, if thousands agreed to take part.

The idea about getting something started on pistonheads, then passed on to other forums was good. Its just a matter of if it catches on or not, if it goes anything like this one then its not going to do much good lol

Like I said, I think people just think that theres nothing that can be done and would rather just accept it rather than do something about it. The only way to get people to do something is to get enough people following so that they follow too.
