i had this problem

couldnt get the bloody thing to stay on so i opted for the expensive route and bought a new driveshaft ]

if you have a VTR they are fairly cheap i have a VTS so abs etc ... more expensive

u can get stuff called vulcanisign rubber solution i fink when u got it in place under the car and it s screwd down run sum of this round the edge of the seal it shrinks the rubber and it will seal it and hopefully stop it cumming lose so easy! smileys/smiley20.gif its what u use to stick puncture repair patches on with it worth a try for 3 quid before you splash out for a new shaft

not 2 sure wot u mean by 'pins'? the thing that normally holds the cv gater in place is a stainless band! you can buy universal gater kits and the bands come in kit, some kits even have grease.you shouldnt need to replace gater unless it is split!!if u pack more grease in2 cv joint, clean hub and the inside lip of gater, note that there is a ridge on inside of gater and that sits in the groove on the hub,get your stainless band, put it in place and tighten it.
