I'm just wondering how effective this is in increasing my car's security - do people still do this mod, is it worth the hassle?

its not too much hassle, and does add a lil security or slightly harder to break in. but at end of the day if someone really wants in they smash window or bend door. and its not as if anyone listens to alarms anyway

exactly. still have them on the mango as its a pain in the arse to lock 2 doors otherwise. i guess if you have Central locking then its a good mod to do, but like he said, if someone really wants something they'll get it!

Tried this today all I managed to do was take off the top of the plunger of the central locking motor so the passenger door doesn't lock with central locking now.
Does anyone maybe have a drawing or something show how it goes together I can't see much behind the panel.

Found the guide cheers mate:y:. I just got to re-attach the plastic hook thing that operates the central locking, I've pulled that off by mistake so passenger door doesn't lock with the remote.

is there any way of de-pinning the door but then wiring a switch in to lock the doors whilst in the car?

why dont you just fit a alarm that when you put you key in ignition that it locks the doors that way you have security.. no pins and your doors lock when your driving/inside
