airbag problem

unfortunatly hit a deep pot hole as i didn't see it but its set my airbay off in my steering wheel which shit me up abit seeing as ive only passed my test bout three weeks ago :( so i now have a airbag light on in my car an a hole in my steering wheel.

how much would it be to replace the airbag etc to get it sorted

luckily no damage to the car that i am aware of but taking it to a a garage tuesday

help appreciated guys

i dont think you have to replace any thing, it can be just a code that has to be cleared by Citroen, all the saxos that i ever seen have the airbag lights on, including mine, its just a common problem for saxos, it shouldn't cost to much to get it sorted.

Isnt there a way to reset the airbag light without taking it to a citroen garage? Also will it fail an MOT with the airbag light on. Mines on aswell :( bad times lol

no, it will not fail a mot test, also second hand air bags can be collected for quite cheap.

classic saxo prob airbag light on either change steering wheel and get light reset or just remove bulb on das if completly changing steering wheel,if want original av seen go for 30 on ebay or try breakers but either way will av to av light reset:y:

I think Tookieboy is saying that the actual airbag has gone off rather than just the light showing. In which case the offer above for a 2nd hand steering wheel should be taken up.

managed to pick up a new airbag, ecu an two pretensioners for 15 plus 10 postage bargan :P an its all fine :)
