just fitted a raceland mani, and my battery light has come on. ive heard it can be the fuse. any ideas chaps?

i would also add that when i had finished the job the heat wrap gave off loads of smoke, which is normal, but i wasnt expecting it. anyone doing the same try not to shit yaself when ya drivin along havin just fitted it and it looks like the engines on fire :y:

you might have disturbed the wires to the alternator,think its next to the manifold,just check the connections are tight.

i have the same problem. the wires are too close to the manifold, you have to cut away the plastic round the 10-12mm nut and relocate the wire round the other way. then heat wrap the mani

i have heat wraped it mate, as i have heard they can toast the alternator. why would the manifold being to close to the alternator make the light come on. where are these wires. to dark to look now. are they near the headers or nearer the bottom by the downpipe? cheers fellas...

The alternator wires sit very close to the pipe for cylinder 4 (not gearbox end) - probably burned through.

the light came on as soon as i started it up? so cant of knackered the wires. i read that if i tape the wires out of the way of pipe the problem is fixed? still cant see why the light is on though.

apparantly you can short the alternator fuse somehow? is there an alternator fuse. didnt no there was one lol
