Just wondered if any of you guys on here knew anything about the legalities of towing a non road legal car to and from the strip using a dolly (think thats what some people call them), one of those things that hook onto your towbar and onto the steering arms of the vehicle being towed?
A few years back a few of us went down to Santa Pod to Bug Jam & i noticed a few folk as we got nearer towing drag beetles & buggies behind them.
Cheers
Paul.

If the rear wheels are on the ground it has to be taxed I believe?

YupYup the car is still incontact with the road so it has to be taxed and another car can crash into it or you can reverse the car into another one therefore needs to be insured :y:

True, i've had a scout around elsewhere online and found out they are definitely not legal. So car trailer it is.

You get a special "half road tax" for it since only half the car will be in contact the road. Basically a full year for the price of half a year, and the disc is only half the size. Contact the DVLA and enquire about the half-car road tax, saves you a bit money
