jacked up my car yesterday to find that my drivers side cv boot clip has broken, so all the grease has gone over my caliper and disc etc. The rubber boot itself is fine, its just the clip that has broken. Ive gt a pot of cv grease anyway, but just to clarify is the best bet and thing to do is pack it with a reasonable amount of cv grease, then get a new clip and clip it back on? if so wheres the best place to get a clip from?

its just a hose clip or a tie rap mate

I used a jubilee clip on mine when mine broke. And its just passed its MOT like that. However I know of someone a few years ago who failed thier MOT because of it so who knows lol.

You usually get a clip in a CV boot kit. Mine only cost £8 for the CV boot, metal clips and a sachet of grease.

Good tie-wraps or jubilee clips are fine. With the jubilee clip though, best make sure it is the type that tightens up in line with the clip and not sideways. This is because by using the side tightening clip, the screw head tends to stick out and could possibly end up ripping the boot or interfering with the disc.

TIP - make sure the sealing surfaces (ie boot and joint) are not covered in grease when refitting else it wil likely come off again. (wd40 or similar is good for this stuff, just don't go mad and with it, only need a bit on a rag).
