new indicator stalk type

hi all
i have bought my lad a V reg (99) saxo east coast 1.1l.
Just recently the indicators have stopped working and i found that the fuse had blown. changed the fuse but it has now blown again, so i'm thinking that the stalk is shorting.
I need to buy another stalk now but i'm not sure which mk the car is etc to make sure i buy the right one, there seems to be quite a few different ones on ebay.
could somebody possibly point me in the right direction?

it will be a mk1 if its a eastcoast, as mk2 1.1 are deisres and fortes

Any mate iv got a mk1 one fitted in my 2002 car
