Anybody know of a reason as to why lorry drivers flash at me when I overtake them and pull back In front of them on the motorway?
I'm pretty good at do's and donts on the road and think of myself as a considerate driver- it's not like I pull in right in front of them or anything, any ideas??!

As said above they flash at you to let you know your clear of them. You'll notice they do this with fellow lorry driver's/coaches etc.
Their just being helpful :) Quick flash of the hazards and we're all in peace and harmony ;)

This happened to me once. Wasn't just lorries though- was anyone who was behind me. Concerned, I pull over, and find that someone had stuck a big sheet of paper on my back number plate, covering it, that said 'I'm a bare ghetto cunt and I eat from bins' written on it in big blue marker pen. Was amused to be honest. Found out later on it was my mate who'd done it when i'd gone round to drop his dads satnav off.
Back on topic, if you're sure there's nothing wrong with the back of your car maybe you're pulling back in front of them too early for there liking. It may seem to you like you're at a safe distance, but they may not agree? General rule I was taught was wait till you can see a bit of the front of the lorry in rear view mirror before tucking back in again. If this is what you're doing then I'm out of potential explanations!

This makes sense too considering we drive tiny saxos that will stop from 70 like hitting a brick wall wheras they might not be comfortable knowing how fast we can brake and how long it takes them. Ah well at least I got an idea.
Thanks all

I thought they just flashed other lorries so they could move over ASAP due to the low overtaking speeds, didn't realise they did it to cars as well

Lorry's flash each other in because they are 50 foot long +, there's really no need for car's to do it as it's far easier to judge the length of a saxo lol

If a Lorry Driver flashed at me i'd be quite disturbed. Unless they were female but a female Lorry Driver? Aint happening.

As said, they flash you to say you're clear of them. When I was driving a work's van, I found other van drivers also do this as well.
