Recently just the one of my rear wheels has started to become hot and smelling of burning and it's kicking out a fair amount of break dust. I got home from work tonight and even my alloy was hot to touch and almost burnt me really.

Ayone had a similar problem? i presume it's my break sticking or the disc isnt quite straight??

Sounds like the pads/ shoes are binding to the disc/ drum. Get it checked out as it'll be affecting your MPG.

sticky caliper. Get it sorted as its not doing the car any good, and if you leave it youll need a new caliper!

Hi this happened on my vtr it got that bad my back wheel wouldn't move.I ended up getting a secound hand calpier about£10 -£20 from scrappy. That's because the piston was f**cked. Have u got drums or disc's.I'd get it looked at asap.

Gettin my exhaust center pipe fitted tomorrow so with any luck ill get the guy to check that break out aswell.. it's clearly something thats rubbing to generate that amount of heat.

And to a previous post i have discs on the rear.

Its either the caliper seized if its a disc brake or the handbrake is dragging. Happened to our Mondeo.
